Trigger Warnings for Rhiannon Hargadon’s Books

First: your mental health is important. I write about seriously dark topics and my books are not for everyone. I try very hard to be true to the story, not gratuitous, and authentic to real life. Some have said my books are emotionally challenging and tragic romance—and that’s true. Many people cry while reading them. You probably will too.

I write grimdark + dark fantasy with real-world scenarios. Infertility. Child neglect. Infidelity. An oppressive family. Rape.

All art, including writing, should say what is unsaid. Reveal what we are most ashamed of, name the horrors we face, give us courage, and (hopefully) help us heal. That is my goal, and ultimately I hope my books will answer that call to arms. So if I’ve made you weep, that is a win—

To be human is to see suffering and FEEL IT.
